Alert Module explained

1. What does this module do

The module is designed to send global messages to all your users and contractors with a specific alert type. We found that if the messages are categorized, users tend to pay more attention to what may affect them. For example a Safety Notice and a General Notice will attract users differently.

2. Setting up your Alert module

Open the module and select the Settings button. Add, edit or delete alert types as required. Once this is done you are ready to start sending alerts. Remember to set the Alert types by consulting with other Administrators.

Default Types are set as:

  • Safety Notices
  • Safety Alerts
  • Site Notice
  • Lesson learnt

Others can be - Environmental alert, Evacuation alert, Weather Alert, etc.

It is also good practice to color code each notice type so that the users are aware what they receive. Red - Safety Alert, Orange - Safety Notice, etc.

  • Select the relevant projects/divisions
  • Select the Alert type
  • Add a suitable title
  • Add a description - this can be formatted using the format bar. (example below)
